世界大賽未來是否要取消指定打擊(DH)制呢？大聯盟主席Rob Manfred強調，未來還是會堅持不會改變投手需上場打擊的制度。
單一賽制，也就是全面取消投手指定打擊制度並未誕生，儘管這幾年還是有投手不慎在跑壘或是打擊中受傷，但國聯制度依舊沒有改變。
「我認為問題出在選擇單一賽制。」Rob Manfred說。
但他認為國聯的球隊一整年就是沒指定打擊，他們的球隊就是因應此制度而生，但美聯的球隊剛好相反，所以要改變的狀況，會對最後的結果有很大的影響。
「所有隊都要去調整，尤其是在這系列賽，但對我來說，保持兩種不同的打擊型態一整年，是很有意義的。」Rob Manfred說。
